THE RIO ARRIBA ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION CENTER
Currently under development, the Rio Arriba Environmental Education Center serves as a venue for natural science education where people of all ages can participate in hands on activities that bring them in touch with their natural environment.
The Center provides
- exhibits on the agricultural traditions of the upper Rio Grande Valley,
- information and research on the science behind traditional food cultivation, herbal remedies, and other indigenous practices that have sustained northern New Mexican people and culture,
- exhibits on regional forest and wildlife habitat,
- a classroom and grade appropriate resource center, and
- community garden.
